Central Scotland Police |

Emergency planning rests with the Operations Division of the Central Scotland Police force. Past demands on the Force such as the fuel crisis and Foot and Mouth epidemic serve to underscore the importance of the work of these departments.

Civil contingency planning| - Scottish Executive|

Planning to Protect is an overview of the Justice Department's responsibilities and arrangements in respect of emergency management. This site also includes additional links to Scottish and UK emergency management sites.

Floodline - SEPA|

SEPA, has established a Floodline public information service to ensure that the people of Scotland can receive information about potential flooding and the best possible advice on how to reduce the impact of floods when they do strike, Check the SEPA website for the latest flood warnings and advice in Scotland by clicking on the Floodline link.

Preparing for emergencies: what you need to know|

HM Government|

This website includes the common sense advice found in the Preparing for Emergencies booklet, sent to all UK households in 2004, and information on what the government is doing to protect the country as a whole. Copies of the booklet can be downloaded in various languages and national editions from this site or from the Scottish Executive website.
This site also has advice on business continuity for commercial businesses and other organisations.

London Prepared|

London Prepared has a great deal of useful information and examples from the London Resilience Partnership, which will be of interest to the rest of the UK.

Fire advice - Safer Scotland|

This website has useful links to fire safety advice.

Security Advice|

This government site has advice on the current security situation in the UK.

The Coal Authority|

The Coal Authority provides information and addresses liabilities regarding coal mine working for which the Authority is responsible.

UK Resilience|

This is a co-ordinating body and centre of expertise set up to improve the resilience of Central Government and the UK.

Resilience is defined as our ability to handle disruptive challenges that can lead to or result in crisis. It was established in 2001 as part of the Cabinet Office and reports to the Prime Minister through the Cabinet Secretary.
