Partnership working leads the way for modern apprenticeships
Helping young people gain a foothold onto the labour market has long been a priority for Falkirk Council's Employment & Training Unit (ETU). And, with the under 25 age group currently quoted as the worst affected by the recession it's good to know that there are still a number of local successes, none of which would have been possible without the support of local employers, working in partnership with the ETU. A five star partnership
Sourcing employment opportunities for young people is a key priority for Falkirk Council's Employment and Training Unit (ETU). With more than 400 young people being offered appropriate support every year by the ETU, building sustainable relationships with quality, local employers is, understandably, of real importance. And, when one of those employers happens to be Scotland's only five-star karting centre, it becomes easier to understand why such relationships are so vital to the process. A targeted approach brings its own rewards
During an economic downturn, there are very few sectors that remain unaffected; this is not currently true for those
organisations involved in waste management and recycling. With ambitious EU targets to meet*, companies such
as Oran Environmental Solutions see only an increase in their workload. So with a genuine, ongoing need for
recruitment solutions, and its head office in Grangemouth, Oran soon contacted Falkirk Council's Employment and
