Some of our key tasks are to:

undertake Food Hygiene and Food Standards inspections at a frequency determined by risk assessment or otherwise in compliance with statute law or centrally issued guidance

investigate food complaints

carry out a Food Sampling programme and other sampling activities

maintain records and report on our activities at required intervals.

check all ship cargo manifests, to monitor movement of foodstuffs and to implement sampling or regulatory actions where appropriate

inspect ships and issue certificates as necessary

ensure the availability of food hygiene education and training

investigate all notified cases of Food Poisoning or similar illness in conjunction with Forth Valley Health Board

enforce the ban on smoking in enclosed public spaces
