On 29 April 2009 the Scottish Government launched ePlanning Scotland| - the new online planning application and appeals submission system. From this site it is possible to make an application to any planning authority in Scotland or submit an appeal to the Directorate for Planning and Environmental Appeals (DPEA).
The system is user friendly and takes you through each step of the way and prevents you from making any basic errors that can often cause planning applications to be rejected. Every application that is made is given a unique reference number that allows you to return to the application at your leisure.
On 30 April 2009 Falkirk Council's Online Planning System| became available. This allows anyone to access and view planning application details and, by registering on the site, to comment on or track applications.
