Falkirk Council's Policy and Resources Committee approved its first Built Heritage Strategy on 10th January 2006.

The strategy develops a priority programme of action for the protection and enhancement of listed buildings, conservation areas and other heritage features. By investing in these assets it is hoped to develop a partnership approach that will assist wider regeneration efforts across the Council area.
