The Bonnybridge and Banknock Local Plan covers the settlements of Bonnybridge, Dennyloanhead, Longcroft, Haggs and Banknock, an area of 29.7 square kilometers with a population of 8,800.
Alterations to the Local Plan
The plan was originally adopted in 1982, but a major overhaul of housing land provision and the urban limit was undertaken through an alteration in 1995.

The original plan was based on a strategy of consolidation, with a focus on addressing the needs and deficiencies of the existing urban area. Job creation and environmental improvement were priorities, with the Denny/Bonnybridge Project prominent in land reclamation and industrial floorpsace provision.
More recently, the 1995 alteration providing a range of new housing sites to meet the requirements of the Structure Plan.
A monitoring report produced in December 2001 contains a review of progress on the implementation of the plan.
