Falkirk Council recognises the important contribution that open space makes to the social and environmental wellbeing of the community. Our open spaces are also important in attracting people and investors to the area.
To help us prioritise our ongoing investment in public open spaces throughout the local area, the Council has appointed consultants, EDAW, to assist in developing an Open Space Strategy for the Falkirk Council Area for 2007-2012.
This study will take the recently completed Open Space Audit and assess the quality of a representative range of open spaces within our towns and villages, in order to identify the most appropriate strategy for the long-term improvement and management of our open spaces and parks.
Consultation
As part of its brief, EDAW has arranged a consultation exercise with a wide range of interested parties, including the Local Community Planning Area teams.
To help with the study and consultation excercise, we would also like you - the public - to complete one of our questionnaires to express your views about the quality of open spaces in the area.
Further information
If individuals or groups are concerned about the quality or provision of open space in the Falkirk area, and wish to be involved in the consultation process, then they should contact Danny Thallon using the details given in the Contact Us panel.
