Working together: Falkirk Access Forum
The Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003 requires that each Local Authority set up at least 1 local access forum for its area.
Set up in 1998 Falkirk Access Forum is an informal group of organisations and community groups with an interest in outdoor access.
This forum makes it possible for a range of organisations to work alongside Falkirk Council and other partners to plan, prioritise and carry out effective access improvements across the area.
The successful structure of land managers, path users and public agencies has played a crucial role in guiding the implementation of Falkirk Council’s Outdoor Access Strategy since 1999.
The forum will continue to shape access developments as the revised Outdoor Access Strategy informs our work from 2005 – 2010. Another role of the forum is to offer assistance and advice on access related issues.
