The
Falkirk Outdoor Events Diary 2008 (PDF, 1.2MB)| is your guide to outdoor events and activities around the urban spaces, parks, woodlands and countryside of the Falkirk area.
Outdoor access
Falkirk Council's Outdoor Access Team runs a lot of projects to help you enjoy your local area. These vary from very simple countryside paths to the network of paths along the canals, disused railways, and around our parks and open spaces. There is a range of routes waiting for you and your boots, bike or horse.
Working with a range of organisations like Central Scotland Forest Trust, Forestry Commission and Callander Estate, we have established path networks throughout the area, including those at Denny, Langlees, Polmont, Kinneil and Callendar Woods. We are also working together to link up many of the existing facilities and paths around local communities.
February 2005 saw the enactment of Part 1 of the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003, which gives everyone in Scotland the right of responsible access.
Find out more about horse access opportunities on the Falkirk Area Riders Access Group (FARAG) website at www.farag.org.uk|.
