The Planning & Environment Unit operates within the Planning and Transportation Service of Development Services.
The main functions of the Unit are to:

review, monitor and implement statutory Development Plan Policy for the Falkirk Council area, including Structure and Local Plans, and implement associated planning based initiatives

provide design and planning guidance for new developments and landscaping projects as well as supporting the conservation of the built heritage

promote sustainable development and environmental action within the Council and the wider community

promote greater access to the countryside and the development of footpath networks
-
support and promote the conservation of local biodiversity through the development and implementation of the Falkirk Area Biodiversity Action Plan.
