The Scottish Vacant and Derelict Land Survey (SVDLS) is an annual survey undertaken to establish the extent and state of vacant and derelict land in Scotland and the amount of land that has been reclaimed.
The main purpose of the survey is to provide a national data source to inform the programming of the rehabilitation, planning and reuse of urban vacant and derelict sites.
It is intended that the register of vacant and derelict land in the Falkirk Council area will provide more detailed information on individual sites with a view to encouraging their re-use or development in accordance with the Development Plan and other planning guidance.
It is hoped that the register will be of use to people and companies looking for development sites within the Falkirk Council area. Officers from Development Services will be pleased to discuss the planning merits of any potential development proposal.
The register will be updated annually when the SVDLS returns are sent to The Scottish Government. Whilst every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of the information, it cannot always be guaranteed.
Any queries regarding the register, or suggestions for inclusion/deletion of sites should be made to Joyce Hartley, Planning & Environment Team, tel: 01324 504717 or email: joyce.hartley@falkirk.gov.uk|
