The Falkirk Council Structure Plan identifies eight strategic locations for major economic development in the Falkirk Council area. Delivering these strategic development opportunities is a major priority for the Council.
The locations include:

town centres – Falkirk Town Centre; Grangemouth Docks

gateways – Middlefield/Westfield; Falkirk Canal Interchange; North Larbert/Glenbervie; Gilston, Polmont

urban regeneration areas – Langlees/Bainsford, Falkirk

specialist sites – Grangemouth/Kinneil Kerse
The Council is involved in range of work to define and enable development at these locations, including feasibility work, the formulation of briefs and development frameworks, and examining appropriate development mechanisms.
