Falkirk Council's Outdoor Ranger Service work as part of the Outdoor Access Team based at Abbotsford House in Bainsford, Falkirk.
The ABC of what we do
Access: Improving access to local greenspace and path networks. Promoting responsible access.
Biodiversity: Promoting understanding and enjoyment of the natural environment and biodiversity.
Community: Helping you get involved in improving local community greenspace.
Falkirk has over 280 miles/450km of paths for you to explore and enjoy. We ensure the public have a safe, enjoyable visit to countryside and local greenspace areas while respecting both other users and the wildlife.
"Please remember Know the Code| before you go.
Enjoy, Respect and Protect".
Our Ranger Service also work alongside Biodiversity colleagues to help implement the Falkirk Area Biodiversity Action Plan (LBAP)|.
The key aims of the LBAP process are to:
-
conserve our rare and threatened plants, animals and habitats
-
encourage, inspire and enable all local groups and individuals to take action to conserve their local biodiversity
-
promote awareness and understanding of biodiversity, its importance for local and global communities, and our responsibility to conserve it and use it wisely.
