In December 2010 Falkirk Council formally adopted the Falkirk Council Local Plan. This plan contains provision for a site for housing to be chosen in Letham.
At its meeting of the 14th June 2011, the Council’s Economic Strategy and Development Committee approved this draft SPG for consultation purposes, and this is now being undertaken with the local community, landowners and potential developers.
The draft SPG focuses on two sites, one to the west and one to the east of the village, and contains an assessment and evaluation of these sites against a number of key criteria.
Given the status of Letham as a Conservation Area the draft SPG also takes the opportunity to set out guiding principles for any future development in this sensitive location.
The consultation period lasts for 8 weeks. If you wish to comment on the draft SPG, in particular stating which site you prefer for development, it would be appreciated if you could do so by post to Planning and Environment Unit, Development Services, Abbotsford House, David’s Loan.
