The approved Falkirk Council Structure Plan 2007 requires the development of up to 750 new houses in the Banknock/Haggs area as part of a Special Initiative for Residential led Regeneration (SIRR).
Falkirk Council is in the process of preparing a development framework that will help to guide development and help to deliver a form of development that maximises community and environmental benefit. It is intended that the development framework will eventually be adopted by the Council as supplementary planning guidance, which will then help inform detailed masterplans and planning applications for development in the Banknock/Haggs area.
A series of consultation events took place to help inform the development framework. A first stage event took place at Banknock Community Centre on 11 September 2007 and a consultation report is available for download. Comments made during the first stage consultation event have been factored into the preparation of different development framework options.
A second stage consultation event took place on 17 June 2008 at Banknock Community Hall and a consultation report is available for download. At this event different development framework options were presented for comment. The outcome of this consultation event will assist in deciding the preferred development framework option to be put before the Council's Environment and Heritage Committee for approval as consultative draft supplementary planning guidance.
