The SPG on Flooding and Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems is intended to encourage an increased interest, understanding and knowledge in Flooding and drainage issues of everyone involved in the development process and thus make the Falkirk Council a safer, more pleasant place to live, work and visit.
The guidance sets out:

The nature of flooding problems generally and in the Falkirk area in particular, the roles and responsibilities of Falkirk Council and other key agencies and the requirements placed on developers to comply with flooding policy when proposing new development.

The requirement for drainage assessments to accompany planning applications for new development.
