As part of its drive to cut its carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, Falkirk Council has developed an in-house campaign aimed at staff. Started in September 2008, the project will run for 14 months, followed by a series of in-house action programmes and competitions.
Initiatives include:
-
A carbon super hero called the Carbon Crusader who emails staff every month
-
Carbon Crusader videos where he launches new projects and updates staff
-
12 month poster campaign, with a new poster every month featuring staff from across the services taking action to cut CO2
-
Staff questionnaires to track any change in staff's opinions and actions
-
Competitions such as a 'Gas Busters' staff suggestion scheme
