When projects are being designed and constructed, they must comply with The Asbestos (Licensing) Regulations 1983 and the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations 2002.
The Construction Support Team provides the following services:

liaising with Business Services, who maintain the Asbestos Register for all non-housing properties.

liaising with Housing Services, who maintain the Asbestos Register for housing properties.

agreeing with the Business and Housing Services, procedures for accessing the Asbestos Register, requesting Asbestos Surveys, dealing with asbestos on projects and providing information to update the Asbestos Register.

providing training and advice to the Roads and Design staff on asbestos regulations and procedure.
