Development Services is responsible for hosting the Disabled Access Working Group, which acts as a liaison point between the Council and the groups representing people with disabilities in the community.
The working group has three main functions:
-
to examine the accessibility of the Council’s public buildings and to implement a rolling programme of adaptations to improve access where appropriate
-
to provide training and advice to all Council officers who have a responsibility for procuring, managing or maintaining the Council’s public buildings
-
to provide advice and assistance to the private business sector on how they might comply with the requirements of the Equality Act 2010.
Falkirk Council has compiled details of accessible Council buildings (PDF, 35KB)| as well as a guide to accessible facilities in the Falkirk area (PDF, 202KB)|, both of which can be downloaded in PDF format from this page.
