Development Services is responsible for hosting the Disabled Access Working Group, which acts as a liaison point between the Council and the groups representing people with disabilities in the community.
The working group has three main functions:

to examine the accessibility of the Council’s public buildings and to implement a rolling programme of adaptations to improve access where appropriate

to provide training and advice to all Council officers who have a responsibility for procuring, managing or maintaining the Council’s public buildings

to provide advice and assistance to the private business sector on how they might comply with the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act: 1995.
