When council projects are being designed and constructed, they must comply with Gas Safety Regulations.
The Construction Support Group provides the following service:

attending the Corporate Gas Safety Working Group meetings and updating Development Services’ portion of the Corporate Gas Framework document.

preparing and maintaining – in association with CORGI – gas safety procedures and systems, for gas related projects.

preparing and maintaining a list of Approved Gas Contractors. This ensures that all contractors, working on gas related council projects are competent.

monitoring the performance of the gas contractors on site. This includes the workmanship of the gas installation, compliance with gas regulations, operative credentials, required certificates and paperwork, etc.

providing training and advice to the Roads and Design staff on gas safety regulations and procedures.
