Public car parks operated by Falkirk Council, their locations, parking provision, waiting times and charges are listed at the bottom of this page.
Some parking areas at Council-owned public offices, sports facilities etc are intended solely for the use of those either visiting or working in the facility. If they are not car parks open to the public then this is usually indicated by a sign.
The Falkirk Council public car parks are controlled by car park attendants. Many are protected by CCTV.
Park Mark® Safer Parking certificates have been awarded to the following car parks in Falkirk Town Centre: Kemper Avenue, Garrison Place (East) & (West), Meeks Road, Melville Street, Weir Street and Williamson Street. These certificates were awarded by the British Parking Association in conjunction with Central Scotland Police following inspection to ensure that they are in a safe condition; that, for security purposes, visibility of persons in the car park from outside the car park and vice versa is satisfactory and that good management practices are in place.
Public car park regulations
There are certain public car park regulations that must be followed.
In designated car parks in Falkirk town centre only:
-
unless you or your passenger hold a valid 'Blue Badge', between 08:45 and 17:30 you must purchase and display a parking ticket
-
you must not exceed the permitted waiting period
-
motor cycles may be parked free of charge at Comely Place, Garrison Place (West) and Williamson Street, in the areas specifically marked for them
-
parking is free of charge on ‘Public Holidays’, defined as Falkirk Council holidays; bank holidays in Scotland; Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday; Boxing Day and 2 January except when these fall on a Saturday when Mondays 28 December and 4 January substitute; Mondays and Tuesdays following Christmas Day and New Year’s Day when the latter days fall on a Saturday or Sunday; days as designated from time to time by the Council
In all car parks:
-
vehicles must be parked fully inside the marked bays where these exist
-
only persons holding a valid 'Blue Badge' may park in a disabled parking bay
In each car park the relevant conditions of use are displayed on signs and are shown on all ticket machines. An excess/penalty charge applies on infringement of car parking regulations.
Some of the parks referred to in the previous paragraph and specific others are at railway stations. Note that they are in addition to any parking operated by the railway companies at the same stations. Parking tickets or permits issued by the Railway Company are not valid in Falkirk Council car parks at stations.
Additional car park information or advice may be obtained by telephoning 01324 594950 or by e-mailing us at parking@falkirk.gov.uk|. Machine or car park faults may also be reported to the above or by telephone, free of charge on 01324 landlines, to Clarence on 0800 23 23 23.
