The Trading Standards team carries out part of Development Services' consumer protection role.
We aim to promote a healthy, safe environment for all members of the community; by enforcing regulatory controls and giving business advice.
We work in conjunction with Citizens Advice consumer service, who now give advice and assistance to consumers with a problem.
Trading Standards enforce consumer protection legislation in order to maintain a safe and fair trading environment for consumers and traders in the Falkirk Council area.

We serve as an information source for other agencies, such as the Office of Fair Trading and for this purpose, information is held about unfair trading practices.
Enforcement staff are based at Abbotsford House and can be contacted on 01324 504950. Personal callers are welcome between the hours of 9.00am and 5.00pm, Monday-Friday, however, it is advisable to make a prior appointment as without an one we cannot guarantee that an officer will be available.
