Falkirk Council provides a school crossing patrol facility to enable children attending primary schools to cross roads going to and returning home from school. Not all schools have a school crossing patrol facility as there is a criteria to be met for the provision of a patrol.

Recruitment of school crossing patrols is historically difficult. Falkirk Council values its 'lollipop' patrollers and is therefore engaged in an ongoing recruitment campaign.
