This section gives you more information about how Falkirk Council is delivering waste education in schools and how you can get your school involved in recycling.
Falkirk Council is dedicated to reducing the amount of waste produced from it’s own premises. As there are 72 schools in Falkirk, a significant proportion of the Council’s own waste comes from within these educational establishments.
In order to help schools reduce the waste that they produce, either through waste minimisation initiatives or through recycling. Falkirk Council employ a dedicated Schools Waste Education Officer. Jen Barrett is helping schools to manage their waste more efficiently.
Falkirk Council is also lucky enough to have a community recycling body in its area. Action Recycle, based in Denny, has for many years been encouraging recycling in the local community and is currently involved in helping Falkirk Council with its household recycling schemes. Action Recycle employ a School Recycling Officer who is also available to assist schools with any aspect of waste minimisation and recycling.
