Falkirk Council is working in partnership with Grangemouth Enterprises Ltd (GEL) on an office and schools furniture reuse pilot called WorkBack launched in November 2008.
GEL operates the scheme selling, repairing and recycling office furniture targeted at Forth Valley public sector organisations, local businesses and householders.
The reuse furniture is mainly sourced from donations from the corporate sector. The range of quality reused furniture supplied typically sells for about 50% of the cost of brand new products, and all items come with a product warranty.
