Launched in March 2003 by the Scottish Executive, the Youth Music Initiative (YMI) aims to improve the provision of opportunities for music making and tuition for young people across Scotland.
In partnership with Falkirk Council Education Services we would like to offer all pupils in Primary 5 the opportunity to receive free instrumental tuition from a wide range of instruments.
Lessons will be delivered by professional musicians with pupils taught in small groups, after school and held weekly. We will use secondary schools and Camelon Education Centre for venues, and where possible allocate your child’s lesson at the nearest venue, however this is dependant on instrument take up and venue availability.
Lessons will last 30 minutes and run over a period of 30 weeks, with instruments being provided during lesson time. The aim is for lessons to begin in Feb 2012 - with confirmation of places and dates sent out to all applicants by Jan 2012.
If your child is in P5 and they would like to receive lessons, please complete form no later than Friday 16th December 2011.
