Pre-school education

A Vision Statement for Early Years in Falkirk Council

Across the Falkirk Council area we provide quality, affordable, accessible childcare and education in partnership with families, colleagues, other professionals and specialist services.

Early Years establishments and Partner Providers work together within an ethos that celebrates flexibility, creativity, diversity and choice to deliver:

  • an inclusive approach that ensures, equality, dignity and privacy for all
  • a safe and stimulating environment where children and adults learn together
  • a planned curriculum, based on prior learning and play experiences, that develops the whole child
  • appropriate challenges through which all children will realise their own potential
  • opportunities for continuous personal and professional development of all staff

Did you know that pre-school education is available in over 60 establishments in the Falkirk Council area?

All pre-school centres offer five 2½ hour sessions.  Additional hours may be available in some facilities.  You will be charged a fee for these additional hours.

All Falkirk Council Early Years Provisions are registered and Inspected by the Scottish Commission for the Regulation of Care (commonly known as the Care Commission) and Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Education (HMIe). Qualified staff must be registered with an appropriate registering body and all staff must have an enhanced disclosure.
