The success of Active Schools relies heavily on the support of volunteers to help sustain our wide range of programmes on offer.
Therefore, we currently have several volunteering schemes operating within Active Schools.
We have set up a volunteering profile with Falkirk Volunteer Centre, we have volunteer students from sports courses at Forth Valley College and we run Community Sports Leader Award (CSLA) training for S5/6 pupils from the local secondary schools. The pupils who successfully complete this training help support our After School and Holiday programmes.
Active Schools is also keen to encourage those involved with our schools to volunteer and at the moment we have teachers, support staff and parents that support us with the physical activity clubs. However, we are always looking for more people to help us run after school clubs, the more volunteers we have the more opportunities for participation we can offer to the children of the Falkirk Council area.
