Falkirk Day Unit is located within Camelon Education Centre. It is situated centrally in Camelon, approximately 1 mile from the centre of Falkirk.
Falkirk Day Unit is one of Falkirk Council's schools for children with educational needs of an emotional / behavioural nature. It provides education for upper secondary aged pupils. Pupils come to Falkirk Day Unit from the Falkirk area and some have a Record of Needs.
The Unit has a Headteacher, a Depute Headteacher, 5 Teachers and 2 Support for Learning Assistants, a Youth Worker and a Clerical Assistant.
Support to pupils may be shared with secondary schools, college or wholly at the Unit. Falkirk Day Unit does not make provision for young people beyond school leaving age.
The curriculum is balanced towards life skills, communication skills and personal and social development.
Activities such as outdoor adventure activities are important components as are expressive arts. Work experience opportunities can be a feature.
Falkirk Day Unit can offer a limited number of Standard Grades and also some SQA Modules.
