Bo'ness Public Primary School is a non-denominational primary school located on the north side of Bo'ness, overlooking the River Forth.

Nursery education is available offering 2½ hour pre-school education sessions per week. Children will benefit from the high quality experience which will enhance their social, emotional and intellectual development. More information can be found on the Childcare and Pre-School| pages.

There is a Breakfast Club starting before school offering a healthy balanced breakfast.

The general aims of the school are to:

• create a safe, well-ordered, pleasant working atmosphere in which each member of the school community feels valued, identifies strongly, and is proud to be associated with the school
• work in partnership with parents to prepare children to take their place in society
• provide a well-balanced curriculum, which encourages active, independent learning suited to the needs and ability of each child
• use a variety of agreed assessment procedures and recording techniques in order to make accurate judgements about progress and to identify the next steps in learning
• ensure consistency of pupil experience and share information on achievement and strategies for learning with pupils and parents
• ensure pupil success by providing challenging coursework which reflects Council and national guidelines
• demonstrate its commitment to raising standards by setting realistic, achievable targets
• develop in children a sense of responsibility for themselves and for their environment
• encourage pupils to develop intellectually, aesthetically and morally to their full potential

These aims should be achieved through the formal and informal curriculum.
