Bothkennar Primary School is a non-denominational primary school that serves the village of Skinflats and the surrounding area. The village of Skinflats lies approximately 3 miles to the west of Grangemouth on the A905.

At present the school roll is 43 and we have a morning nursery that can take 20 pupils.

The main school building provides attractive, bright and pleasant accommodation in two classrooms, gym/dining hall, library area, staffroom, office and resources room. To the rear of the building lies a mobile classroom that currently houses primaries 1–4. The nursery building, which opened in September 2001, is situated at the front of the school.

Bothkennar Primary School is part of the Larbert Cluster with primary 7 pupils transferring to Larbert High School.

Teaching staff are supported by classroom assistants, school helpers and visiting teachers in PE, music and art, design and craft.

All members of staff, teaching and support staff, work closely as a team providing mutual support and ensuring a consistent approach.

Relationships between school and parents, staff and pupils, are very good and the atmosphere is pleasant and purposeful.
