Carmuirs Primary School is a non-denominational primary school situated in Camelon, which is approximately 1 mile from the centre of Falkirk.

The catchment area of the school is bounded in Camelon by the canal on one side and consists of all the houses on the north side of the Main Street as far west as Watling Street. The area has good road and rail links and Camelon has a small railway station serving the area.

Falkirk town centre is in walking distance and there is a regular bus service into the main town. The Alexander Dennis bus company is the biggest local employer. Leisure facilities in the area are served by the Mariner Centre. The Falkirk Wheel is also within walking distance.

The school celebrated its centenary year in session 2001–02 and has recently undergone a major refurbishment to the interior of the building. New dining facilities have been added as well as a nursery for pre-school children, as well as a well-stocked modern lending library and a computer suite to support children’s learning.

There is a range of extra-curricular activities available for pupils during lunchtime and after school. Parents will always be informed about these clubs by the school.

Nursery education is available offering 2.5 hours of pre-school education sessions each week. Children will benefit from the high quality experience, which will enhance their social, emotional and intellectual development. More information can be found on the Childcare and pre-school pages|.

There is a Breakfast Club starting before school offering a healthy balanced breakfast.
