Easter Carmuirs is a non-denominational primary school situated in Camelon on the outskirts of Falkirk, very near to the Falkirk Wheel. The school was built in 1961 and has large classrooms providing generous accommodation. The school is well resourced with a range of modern educational textbooks and materials to interest and motivate pupils.

The school has rich I.C.T. resources, with a computer suite and a school network providing computers in every classroom. A large hall with a stage is also equipped as a gymnasium. The recently refurbished library is stocked with a large collection of new books.

The school's nursery has 30 morning and 30 afternoon places, with an outside soft-play area. The nursery provides opportunities for children to develop a wide variety of personal and social skills through carefully planned activities. Nursery education is available offering 2.5 hours of pre-school education sessions each week. Children will benefit from the high quality experience that will enhance their social, emotional and intellectual development. More information can be found on the Childcare and pre-school pages|.

There is a Breakfast Club starting before school offering a healthy balanced breakfast. You can download a breakfast menu from the Breakfast Club page|.

The school also houses an enhanced provision for children with learning difficulties which allows children's individual learning needs to be met and provided through social inclusion, integration and mainstream classes.

A recent HMI Inspection (November 2001) commended the staff on their commitment to the education and welfare of pupils. Key strengths also identified were: a broad and balanced curriculum, the quality of teachers' planning, the school development plan and a strong emphasis on improving pupils' work ethos and attainment.
