Sacred Heart RC Primary
Head Teacher/Manager:
Mrs Cathy Quinn

Sacred Heart RC Primary School is situated centrally in the town of Grangemouth, which is approximately 4 miles from Falkirk town centre. This is a Catholic primary school with a non-denominational nursery class that normally admits children from Grangemouth.

The building is on two levels with access to the ground floor for disabled people. The present roll is 193 children aged between four and a half and twelve and a half in the primary classes and 60 nursery places: 30 in the morning and 30 in the afternoon. Both school and nursery classes are protected by a security system.

The accommodation consists of:

  • eight large well resourced classrooms
  • three large resource rooms, which house materials in language arts, maths, science, social sciences and early years equipment
  • general purpose room arranged for class teachers and visiting specialists to deliver programmes in art, fabric and craft and music
  • a large assembly hall with stage area. This is fully resourced for physical education and drama
  • a large separate dining room.

Extensive refurbishment has taken place to upgrade the accommodation.

This has resulted in:

  • a new ICT suite
  • a refurbished library
  • a meeting/conference suite for all school users
  • a staff development room
  • a "soft-start" active playroom

Nursery education is available offering 2.5 hours of pre-school education sessions each week. Children will benefit from the high quality experience, which will enhance their social, emotional and intellectual development. More information can be found on the Childcare and pre-school pages|.

Our landscaped grounds are extensive with hard and grassed play areas. Within these grounds there is a well-developed garden area, which is used as a source for learning and as a picnic/play area for pupils at lunchtime.

Children, families and all interested visitors are welcomed into our school, where we will endeavour to make every child's education as happy and fulfilling as possible. Close co-operation between parents, staff and community is encouraged and appreciated. Everyone is invited to make as full a contribution as possible to the work of the school so that high standards are expected and achieved.
