Braes High School is a non-denominational, fully comprehensive six year school situated in the Reddingmuirhead area, which is approximately 4 miles from Falkirk. The school, which opened in August 2000, is part of the Falkirk Schools Project in which private funding has been used to build five new schools.
The Braes Cluster consists of nine primary schools spread over a wide geographical area and serving very varied communities. The schools are: Avonbridge, California, Drumbowie, Limerigg, Maddiston, Shieldhill, Slamannan, Wallacestone and Whitecross Primary Schools.
The schools work closely together on a wide range of curricular issues, out of hours activities and staff and pupil visits which helps to ensure that the transfer of pupils from primary to secondary school is a success.
The Braes High School complex has a wide range of facilities: a large assembly hall/dining room, specialist facilities for subjects like art, home economics, computing, a 20 metre swimming pool, games hall, dance studio, fitness suite, all weather playing fields and a social area for pupils to use.
