Grangemouth High School serves the town of Grangemouth, which lies on the south bank of the river Forth, to the east of Falkirk and is a town which is justly proud of both its industrial heritage and its continuing role at the centre of Scotland's petro-chemical industry.

Grangemouth High School is a six-year non-denominational school of around 900 pupils, the majority of whom come from three local primary schools: Bowhouse, Beancross, and Moray. The school has excellent links with the primary schools and works closely with other services through the Integrated Learning Community.

The management team comprises the Headteacher, 3 Depute Headteachers, 6 Principal Teachers (faculty), 4 Principal Teachers (pastoral), and the Resources Manager.  There is a total teaching staff of 67, a librarian and library assistant and a full complement of administration and support staff, including a number of Support Assistants to help meet pupil needs.  The school has an Extended Pupil Support Service and is equipped to accommodate disabled pupils.

Pupils at Grangemouth High School enjoy a wide range of academic and vocational courses and have opportunities to take part in a number of extra-curricular and enterprise activities as well as personal development activities such as team-building and study skills. The school plays an active part in the local community and has a strong tradition in music and school productions.  The majority of pupils remain at school beyond the statutory school-leaving age and leave at the end of S5 or S6 to continue their education or to take up employment.

A new purpose-built school building is due to open on an adjacent site in December 2008 and will provide enhanced accommodation and facilities, including a swimming pool and new sports pitches.
