How the scheme works
The Matchmaker Scheme is a free service. Each of the councils in the partnership
holds a list of potential buyers. When the Empty Homes Officer spots a 'match' between
an empty home and a buyer's requirements, the empty home owner and the buyer will
receive each other's details.
The Property Matchmaker is not an estate agency, and all negotiations and sales
processes take place between the seller and buyer. If your property is already for
sale with an estate agent, we would recommend that you refer any sale through that
agent following a "match" through this scheme. If you are selling your property,
we recommend that you seek independent professional valuation and legal advice from
a solicitor or estate agent.
