If our assessment finds that you are homeless in terms of the law, which means that you:
-
have priority need
-
are unintentionally homeless and
-
have a local connection
you will be awarded Homeless Points to help you get an offer of permanent housing.
You will be given temporary housing until suitable permanent housing is found.
You can be made up to two offers of permanent housing. You should talk to your Assessment Officer or seek independent housing advice before you turn down an offer of permanent housing.
You should be aware that by giving you up to you reasonable offers of housing the Council will have met its legal obligation to you. If you refuse two offers you will have to leave your temporary accommodation and find somewhere else to stay.
