The Local Housing Strategy Update 2006 reports on progress relating to key tasks and priorities set out in the Falkirk Local Housing Strategy 2004-2009.
The LHS is developing over time to respond and react to both national and local policies and initiatives; therefore it is important that our local LHS process is regularly reviewed to ensure that it is fit for purpose. This Update covers the following areas:

This Update includes the latest position in terms of energy efficiency (Appendix 1) and fuel poverty (Appendix 2). It also considers issues relating to the private sector (Appendix 3). The Homelessness Statement 2005/6 (Appendix 4) provides a summary of the current situation regarding the extent and nature of homelessness in the Falkirk area. The Update also includes phase one of the Affordable Housing Study which provides initial estimates on the need for affordable housing.
The Housing Partnership Development Programme (Appendix 6) outlines agreed priority projects between Falkirk Council and Communities Scotland in relation to Housing Association development. Finally the Standard Delivery Plan Update 2006 (Appendix 7) provides an overview on Council progress to meeting the Scottish Housing Quality Standard in relation to its own stock.
