Registering to vote

polling station
The UK Parliamentary election must be held before 03 June.

To be able to vote, you need to be registered to vote at your current address. If you want to vote by post, you need to make sure your application is submitted on time.

The election could be called at 17 working days notice. Legally all applications to vote by post and to register to vote must be received 11 working days before polling day, which could even be before the official poll cards are delivered by Royal Mail.

This means it's important to check that you are registered to vote now and to apply before the deadline if you know you will want to use a postal vote.

You can check if you're on the list by looking up the 01 December Register of Electors in your local library. Forms to register to vote and to apply to vote by post are also available in local libraries.

You can also contact the Electoral Registration Officer| by providing your name, address & telephone number using the following options.

If you have changed address recently you should also contact the Electoral Registration Officer| to update your registration.
