Customer & Development Services provide a variety of services to both our internal and external customers.
Internally we provide a wide a range of support services to assist the other units within Law and Administration Services achieve their objectives. In addition to this, a number of front line services Council-wide are provided by Customer & Development Services. The services provided are:

a reception service for the Municipal Buildings;

a mailroom and mail courier service for the Council;
-
a records management service for the Council;
-
a printing and finishing service for the Council;
-
a high-volume photocopying service for the Council;
-
internal clerical support for Law & Administration Services; and
-
word processing service for Law & Administration Services.
Externally, we provide a broad range of registration services which includes:

registration of Births, Deaths and Marriages;
-
solemnising civil marriages;
-
conducting life event ceremonies;
-
conducting citizenship ceremonies;
-
providing records and statistical information to the General Register for Scotland;
-
providing a genealogical research service;
-
processing applications for footwear and clothing grants and free school meals; and
-
administering school lets.
