New rights of access to information held by public authorities apply from 1 January, 2005.
If you want to find out what type of information the Council has, or are looking for a specific piece of information, your first port of call is the Council's Publication Scheme|. This is where the Council sets out the classes of information that are generally available with the links and/or contacts to access the information. Should you wish to access information regarding the Council's Licensing Board advice can be found on the Council's Licensing Board pages|.
If you do not see what you want there, you can make a specific information request. You can make a request in writing or any recordable form. To assist there is a request form you can download |and complete. Submit your request to foi@falkirk.gov.uk| or to any of the addresses shown on the back of the form. You will also find there a brief note of the types of work covered to assist you in directing your request to the most appropriate contact.
We aim to deal with your request within 20 working days. There are a number of exemptions that apply so we will have to consider your request in light of these.
Depending on how much work is involved in answering your request there may be a discounted fee to be charged. We would let you know this in advance. Any costs under £100 are borne by the Council. Therefore most requests are likely to be free unless your request is complex or you are seeking a lot of information.
