Feu Superiors/Burdens Consent

The feudal system came to an end on 28 November, 2004 in line with the abolition of Feudal Tenure etc (Scotland) Act 2000 and the Title Conditions (Scotland) Act 2003.

Accordingly, the Council will no longer be in a position to grant consent as Feu Superior. Instead, however, Falkirk Council's consent may be required for alterations, etc as a neighbouring proprietor. If you have any queries may we suggest that you seek independent legal advice.

To obtain an application form for Falkirk Council's Burden Consent please request an application form from any Council office, by telephoning the number shown or by downloading the Burden's Consent application form:
