Intensive preparation and support is provided to the child and their adoptive parents at the point of introductions and beyond, up to when the Adoption Order is granted.
Following the granting of the Adoption Order, the adoptive parents have full responsibilities and rights over the child(ren). Falkirk Council nevertheless recognises that they will require ongoing support and make this available by agreement through social workers and the sponsorship of voluntary organisations who support adoptive parents and their children. Some adoptive parents have also contributed to the training and preparation of applicants.
