Falkirk Public Social Partnership

Developing a Commissioning Framework to support sustainable services through sustainable partnership

CVS Falkirk & District and Falkirk Council are running one of ten pilot projects in Scotland, for the Scottish Government's new Public Social Partnership programme.

In Falkirk the project, which is being led by Falkirk's Children's Commission, will work with the third sector, public sector and service users to develop a commissioning framework for services for children and families. This is an exciting new development which has the potential to have a wider impact on commissioning policy.

A key outcome will be that both public and third sector organisations feel confident about taking part in the commissioning process. The project will offer training and support, and will ensure that third sector organisations are involved in the design and planning of services.

The Project Team has representatives from CVS and from Falkirk Council Corporate & Neighbourhood, Education and Social Work Services. The team is receiving ongoing support from Price Waterhouse Coopers and Forth Sector to develop a best practice framework which can be consistently applied to commissioning services.

Details of the project are contained in the project initiation document (PDF, 114KB)|.

The first of a series of events was held on 30 April. Handouts and presentations are available to download.

Further events (PDF, 40KB)| are planned for June & November 2010 and February 2011.
