Other income - Children & Family Services

Carer's Allowance sometimes can't be paid if you are getting at least the same amount from certain other social security benefits. However, it is always worth claiming Carers' Allowance as you may still be eligible for Income Support/Pension Credit, Housing/Council Tax benefit and Health benefits, even if Carers Allowance is disallowed.

For advice on carers' rights, information on carers' issues, or to obtain a carer's pack, you can contact the following:

  • The Princess Royal Trust Falkirk & Clackmannanshire Carers Centre
    Tel: 01324 611510
  • Disability Information Service
    Tel/Minicom: 01324 504304
  • Welfare Benefits Advice
    Tel: 01324 501404

Alternatively you can contact the children with disabilities team| if you need further information on receiving a Carer's Assessment or any other issues relating to children with a disability.

For further information, please see the Community Advice Service page on financial help for carers|.
