Carers are people who spend time looking after a friend, neighbour or family member who, because of disability, illness, the effects of old age or dependency on drugs or alcohol, needs support or can't manage at home without help.
Carers may help with washing, cooking, dressing, shopping, cleaning, feeding and much more. They may be young or old, male or female, wives, husbands, children, friends, neighbours or parents of a child with special needs.
Carers may face difficulties as a result of their caring situation. They may experience financial problems, health problems, stress, and loneliness. It's therefore important to understand how we can help.
So, if you look after a friend or family member who is ill, frail or has a disability then as a carer we can provide you with help and support.
