Our group is for people who have dementia or memory difficulties. The group meets on the last Thursday of the month from 10.00am till 12.00pm on at the Horsemill Inn in Denny. This is also part of the meeting for the local branch of the Scottish Dementia Working Group|, and is open to people from the Falkirk, Stirling and Clackmannan areas. Transport can be arranged if needed.
During the group sessions we talk about:
-
how you feel about your illness
-
things you do to help you cope in day to day life
-
your feelings about accepting help
-
where you can get help
-
what your rights are
-
how you can make your voice heard
People who come to the group feel that it helps to:
-
express their feelings
-
hear how other people feel
-
realise that you are not alone
-
learn new ways of coping from each other
-
get the most out of the services
-
find support from people going through the same thing

Scottish Dementia Working Group
A local branch of the Scottish Dementia Working Group was formed in October 2003 and is run by people with dementia. One of the benefits of having a local branch is that the group has an influence over local and national issues. National meetings are also held regularly.
The Scottish Dementia Working Group has three main aims:
-
to work together
-
to be heard
-
to be a voice
The group meets on the last Thursday of the month from 10.00am till 12.00pm at the Horsemill Inn in Denny and is open to people from Falkirk, Stirling and Clackmannan areas. Transport can be arranged if needed.
If you are interested you can come along and meet the group. Alternatively you can contact us using the details under the 'Contact Us' section for more information.
