How can people use the Time to Share service?

If you are interested in the Time to Share service, please contact us using the details in the Contact Us section. Someone from the service will then arrange to come out and tell you more about it and introduce you to one of our carers.

Introductions would be very gradual so that there is the opportunity to develop a relationship with the carer before you actually go to stay. Even then, we would start with one or two nights, and after that we would arrange breaks on a regular flexible basis that would suit both you and the Time to Share carer. In some circumstances, there is the opportunity for people to have a break with their partner.

The service works very well for many people who enjoy the normality of staying in a domestic setting and the opportunity to develop a special relationship with one carer and their family.

Please ensure that you tell us about any medication that you need to take.

How much will it cost?

Please speak to your community care worker (see local offices| for contact details) or one of our team members regarding the exact cost of your holiday. You or a person you have nominated will be sent a bill shortly after the break. You will not need to give any direct payment to the Time to Share carer.

The break will feel very much like a holiday with opportunities to go out and enjoy different experiences. Although the basic costs are met, most people like to have some spending money so that they can choose to make small purchases, or contribute to the cost of outings, if they wish. Special items for day-to-day use can also be brought with you.
