Falkirk Council in partnership with ENABLE Scotland has developed a new supported employment project for people with a learning disability.
Asset’s employment team plans to support up to 10 local people each year to access paid jobs with local employers. The service gives people the opportunity to make informed decisions about the type of work they want and help plan a route into employment.
The team will:

support young people with a learning disability to think about employment prospects while making the transition from school to adulthood

support people overcome fears about benefits that prevent them from working, providing better information about issues such as tax credits

support each person to look for, find, and keep a job

support and train employers and their staff to ensure that people with learning disabilities receive both equal pay and access to meaningful employment
